Job Description

Our client a superb instantly recognisable business is looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager to join their small friendly team.

A hand's on role with the remit of shaping and delivering the procurement strategy for the business.

The role:

*To drive best practice for procurement across the business by building positive working relationships with department heads and managers.
*Responsibility for producing and maintaining the business procurement policies and procedures and maintaining governance within these policies.
*Devise & deliver training to new & existing staff on procurement practices and use of the purchase requisition/purchase order system.
*Sourcing and purchasing a diverse range of products and materials for the business and to achieve quality, delivery and cost targets through effective supplier management.
*Identify areas of quality improvement and cost savings across the whole business.
*Responsible for leading negotiating credit terms with suppliers.
*Establish supplier contracts for the bulk purchase of goods and negotiate advantageous commercial terms.
*Ensure that all departments are fully informed of recommended suppliers.
*Manage and develop the contracting process for major purchases for the business including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, contract recommendation and award.
*Lead and manage negotiations for strategic purchases and key suppliers to establish best value for money and quality within budget on favorable credit terms.
*Co-ordination of provision of management information in relation to the procurement activity.
*Liaise with key company employees to determine their product & service need.
*Identify and research potential new suppliers.
*Management & development of a Procurement Officer.
*Produce reporting on procurement and purchasing processes to document compliance and identify failures to follow process.
*Other adhoc duties

Person Specification

The person:

*Proven work experience in a procurement role
*CIPS qualified or equivalent
*Excellent relationship building , negotiating & networking skills
*Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
*Friendly, well organised with the ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure.
*Possess strong time management skills and have a flexible approach to work.
*Able to communicate to the highest level
*Works within a team environment
*Ability to work autonomously on own initiative
*Excellent IT skills (including excellent MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
*Able to work to tight deadlines.
