10787 - Quantity Surveyor Job Spec
Location: Northampton

Working with Paul Mitchell Associates, our Client, an established construction company based in Northampton are seeking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a full-time permanent basis.

Working within a small friendly team within the finance division and reporting to the FC, this is an opportunity for the right candidate to make the role their own. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial control of over one hundred and fifty projects, controlling contracts in order to maximise profit and manage costs. Experience running construction & utilities sector projects is essential, from inception to final account stage.

Duties / Responsibilities
*Supporting project managers, ensuring effective financial management of multiple projects through accurate forecasting & CVR reporting, and providing commercial support ensuring accurate billing, cash flow & project profitability,
*Assisting project managers with contract claims, managing financial risk & customer disputes (financial & commercial aspects),
*Monitoring & reporting of constructions works productivity,
*Transfer of tender documentation & original scope of works into budget documents, including bills of quantities,
*Agreeing applications & final accounts,
*Cost management, control & value reconciliations,
*Tracking cost & value to ensure project profitability, investigating & reporting any down turn in profits,
*Responsible for monthly valuation of works completed in period,
*Validate construction variations, manage customer & contractor interface,
*Provide regular feedback to support Tendering Department in the preparation of tender / contract documentation.

Reporting to: Financial Controller

Experience & Requirements
*Minimum of three years' experience in multi-utility projects,
*Ability to analyse problems & offer solutions,
*Ability to work as part of a team as well on own initiative,
*Strong commercial awareness to an intermediate level,
*Solid contract awareness,
*Experience of developing CVRs,
*Good written & verbal communication skills together with strong interpersonal skills,
*Self-motivated, accurate with an eye for detail,
*Systems: MS Excel, SAGE Construct.

Salary Package
*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 9:00am to 5:30pm (30mins Lunch)
*Holiday: 25+STAT
