Location: Loughborough / Remote Working

Summary

Our Client – a large engineering & manufacturing firm based in Loughborough – is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant on a full-time fixed-term-contract covering a 12 month period of maternity leave.

 

The Role

The successful candidate – ideally starting up to or around March 2021 – will be responsible for:

  • Sterling, euro and dollar bank postings & reconciliations,
  • Short & long-term cashflows,
  • Month-end G/L journals incl. accruals & prepayments,
  • General ledger reconciliation accounts,
  • Assisting the management accountant with forecasting,
  • Oversee Company system VIM,
  • Quarterly preparation of IAS consolidated packs to parent company,
  • Oversee company expenses,
  • VAT / Irish VAT,
  • Sub-contractors tax,
  • Intercompany accounts, reconciliations & month-end closing,
  • Working within company policies & standards, ensuring that financial / legal guidelines are followed,
  • Provide support to the FC as well as hands-on cover for other staff members,
  • Working within health & safety guidelines,
  • Supporting & working within the company values / code of conduct,
  • Any related duties on an adhoc basis.

Reporting To: Financial Controller

 

The Right Person

  • Qualified OR Part-Qual AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent,
  • Circa 2-3 years’ experience working in a busy financial environment,
  • Knowledge of SAP Accounting Systems would be advantageous,
  • Demonstrable experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, meeting deadlines such as month-end closures & preparation of accounts to trial balance,
  • Excellent planning, organisation and deadline time keeping skills,
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team within a larger organisation,
  • Strong IT skills incl. Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills to a high standard (full training will be given on in-house systems).

 

Package

  • Appointment Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
  • Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 (subject to experience)
  • Hours: Full-Time
  • Holiday 25 Days + Bank Holidays
  • 8% Company Pension
  • Predominantly Remote Working (with sometime in the office)
