Location: Leicester / Opportunity to Work Remotely

Are you a circa 5-year post-qualification solicitor (perhaps FCILEx) looking to work within commercial / business arm of a leading and renowned professional services sector business?

If yes, then this new opportunity may be worth looking at. Our client, based in Leicester, is seeking an enthusiastic individual on a full-time permanent basis to be responsible for:

*Carrying out a fee earning role within the commercial / business law department and provide a profitable contribution to the department and company.
*At all times to act and conduct yourself in accordance with the Company's Vision and Mission Statements and Core Values.
*To proactively support the Commercial Law Department and provide cover for holidays (in particular the absence of the Director Responsible) and contribute wherever possible to the success of the Company through fee earning, marketing and training activities.

*Providing high quality, timely, professional fee earning in relation to company law and commercial transactions and related work. This will include all types of corporate governance and partnership advice and dealings, business acquisitions and disposals (whether by shares or assets) and commercial contracts of all types whether for clients providing services or products and whether to other businesses and/or consumers.
*Ensuring that all client work is dealt with efficiently and that the client is kept regularly informed about progress and costs whilst maintaining the confidentiality of all the Company's and client's documents and information at all times.
*Working effectively with own initiative to act in the best interests of clients, maximising profitability and working within a team environment.
*Maintaining an up to date knowledge of company law matters and case law, legislation and trends and advice to fellow fee earners.
*Actively proposing and participating in agreed marketing initiatives and for contributing to marketing initiatives.

*To report to the Head of Business Services or in their absence the director responsible. To conduct day to day activities in relation to client matters in the best interests of the client and consistent with the business plan and aims of Lawson-West.
*Planning and organising own day to day activities.
*To develop and maintain sound business relationships with the other departments, clients, business contacts and referral partners. To ensure the highest level of client care, consistent with the Company's Vision and Mission Statements, and consistent with its core values.
*To participate in, and encourage other staff to participate in, the development of improved operating practices consistent with the Company's practice of continuous improvement.
*Financial Management: achieve agreed fee earner targets.
*Be an active member of the team and encourage others to be active in helping to generate and promote marketing initiatives to promote the services of the Company, in co-operation with the Director Responsible and the Company's Marketing Manager.

Reporting to: Head of Services and/or Director

*Qualifications: Admitted Solicitor (FCILEx).
*Circa 4-6 years post-qualification experience.
*Four years' experience in handling, with limited supervision a wide variety of company and commercial matters, including share and asset acquisitions and disposals, shareholder agreements, company formation and amendments to articles, commercial contracts and terms of business, from initial instructions to completion and post-completion work.
*Experience of developing and maintaining good business relationships with clients, business contacts and referral partners such as accountants and participating in marketing activities.
*Experience of drafting complex documents and/or bespoke drafting.
*Strong IT skills (you will receive training on our Case Management System).
*Excellent technical knowledge of commercial company law.
*Be confident and personable with excellent client care and communications skills (both verbal and written).
*Well organised with a proactive approach to transactions and problem solving.
*Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
*Willingness to be involved in marketing of the business in departmental marketing meetings, internal activities such as drafting articles, webinars and events to generate new business.
*Build a good rapport with clients and colleagues.
*Be willing and able to support and help team / colleagues.
*Valid driving licence and possess own transport. Willing to visit clients and business contacts at their places of business or elsewhere.

*Experienced in using a case management system.
*Experience of commercial property transactions and/or working with commercial property lawyers.

*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: £42,000 - £55,000 (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-Time (discretionary flexi-time), opportunity to work remotely
