11465 - Finance / Accounts Assistant
Location: Leicester

Are you an experienced Finance / Accounts Assistant?

My client, part of a group of retail companies based in Leicester, is seeking an all-round Finance / Accounts Assistant to join their growing team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all key areas of the finance function, including sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, stock, management accounts and forecasts.

*Process sales invoices, allocating receipts & credit control,
*Investigate customer debit notes,
*Raise debit notes to customers / suppliers,
*Process purchase invoices, make supplier payments & check supplier statements,
*Petty cash management,
*Control account reconciliations,
*Fixed asset management,
*Maintenance of the general ledger including journal preparation,
*Maintenance and posting bank transactions,
*Preparation of quarterly VAT returns,
*Complete financial month-end,
*Ad-hoc weekly & monthly reporting,
*Query resolution,
*Ad-hoc financial duties / projects as required,
*Occasional banking,
*Maintain stock records.

Reporting to: Managing Director

*Qualifications: Studying AAT
*Systems: moderate - advanced MS Excel, pivot charts & pivot tables,
*Demonstrate an ability to work to tight deadlines within finance, with excellent time management and organisational skills,
*Be a confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated team player with initiative, with the ability to work autonomously,
*Excellent communication & interpersonal skills,
*Ensure professional knowledge, skills, innovation and personal image are sufficiently developed to fulfil the requirement of the position.

*Qualifications: AAT Qualified (desired),
*Systems: Sage 200 / ERP knowledge,
*Experience with costing,
*Experience working within a B2C retail environment,
*Calculated fields, relationships, data models, macros.

*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: Negotiable, circa £22k - £25k per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-Time, 37.5hrs per week
*Holiday 20 Days + Bank Holidays
*Possible Study Support (distance learning)
