12212 – Finance Business Partner Job Spec

Summary of the Role
Our client – a large, highly successful manufacturing organisation based in Leicestershire – are seeking a qualified management accountant to join them as Finance Business Partner on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for all balance sheet & P&L reconciliations, provision of monthly reporting packs and the supporting statutory audit process through analysis. Also, you will drive performance improvements / cost control through collaborating with key stakeholders. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Production of monthly management accounts with analysis & insights (incl. variances / KPI’s),
- Variance analysis / understanding with supporting commentaries,
- Preparation of forecasts & budgets for all elements of P&L,
- Supporting control of CAP-EX,
- Participating in regular on-site reviews with key stake / budget holders to manage costs & advise on performance,
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, preparation & review to identify / eliminate risks,
- Provide assistance & good practice training to factories on finance & internal controls,
- Implement, monitor & ensure adherence to financial controls across all departments,
- Supporting the annual statutory reporting process,
- Respond to audit queries / requirements from Group & external auditors,
- Partnering with operations / commercial teams to drive business performance.
The Right Person
- Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent,
- Demonstrable analytical skills with the ability able to understand detailed data & analysis, and report key observations / recommendations to non-finance leaders,
- Detailed understanding of accounting – Price / Margin / Cost,
- Previous management accounting experience is essential. A background in business partnering / SOX preferred,
- Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team within a larger organisation,
- Excellent planning, organisation & deadline time keeping skills,
- Strong IT skills incl. Microsoft Excel with Macros & CRM systems.
Package
- Appointment Type: Permanent
- Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (subject to experience)
- Hours: Full-Time
