Job Description

Financial Controller Northamptonshire

Our client is a highly successful privately owned company which is enjoying a period of sustained expansion.

*Candidates should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who possess sound practical experience as well as good technical skills. Reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following Head Office functions.

*To be part of the management team and have an input into all relevant decisions including overseeing the running of the HO accounts department.

*Maintain the integrity of all accounting ledgers (nominal / sales / purchase) and systems.
*Ensure Reconcile Nominal Controls are carried out on quarterly basis.
*Produce Monthly Accounts Assessments/Quarterly Management Accounts and Year End Management Accounts plus the usual supporting schedules/reconciliations including an extended TB & a detailed schedule of management adjustments.

*Reconcile Year End Accounts for Audit to Year End Management Accounts.

*Assist with the production of Annual Budgets.

*Overview of monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow report.

*Overview of Quarterly VAT Returns (including overseas VAT Returns where appropriate).

*Oversee Monthly payroll plus all associated administration including monthly reconciled payments to HMRC, reconciled year end returns / P11Ds, bonus payments, etc ensuring all deadline are achieved

*Liaison on Auto-enrollment pension schemes.

*Active involvement in recruitment of accounts / admin staff

*Ad Hoc exercises as required


*Candidates should possess people management skills, excellent communication skills, problem solving and decision making ability.
* In addition, the candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and good computer skills including spreadsheets.

*Qualifications: Ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part qualified or qualified by experience
