Job Description

Our client - a not-for-profit organisation based in Leicester - is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time interim contract basis (3-6-months). The successful candidate will be responsible for:

*Assisting with the collation / reporting of monthly management accounts, maintaining accurate records to ensure integrity & compliance with tax / audit legislation,
*Review & update policies / procedures covering all financial processes, ensuring they are effectively communicated to key stakeholders,
*Assist in the development of budgetary control procedures & financial disciplines that, whilst flexible, support budget holders in achieving operational objectives and meets legal obligations,
*Assist with interpreting, reconciling & reporting on all business activities & overhead costs,
*Ensure financial controls are in place, variances are explained / understood & the department is adequately supported with financial information & guidance,
*Calculate visiting work contra settlements to ensure they are prepared / agreed in an accurate & timely manner, liaising with the Heads of Department and external agents / companies as required,
*Create & monitor contra settlement tracker to be shared across programming, technical & finance departments, ensure visiting programme budget is updated & reconciled when contra settlements are finalised,
*Complete monthly reconciliations of control accounts within the financial ledgers,
*Provide assistance and cover for purchase ledger & payroll when required,
*Ensure fixed asset register is updated / maintained, and assets are depreciated in line with company policy,
*Complete & assist with monthly / quarterly VAT returns incl. annual calculations & annual adjustment,
*Oversee weekly / monthly pension collections & payments to providers, reconcile accounts on a monthly basis,
*Assist with daily / weekly / monthly cash-flow reporting incl. cash spot checks,
*Assist FD with preparation of the annual audit,
*Increase & maintain understanding of finances for non-financial managers,
*Develop good relationships, maintain communication with suppliers of the finance system & EPOS suppliers to ensure smooth running of all finance applications, liaising with IT departments as necessary, ensure maintenance contracts / licenses are kept up to date,
*Undertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.

The Right Person
*We are seeking someone who is AAT-qualified, part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent, OR qualified by experience,
*Proven record of working within a busy finance environment from basic processes up to
*management accounts level,
*Experience of delivering monthly management accounts & analysing data,
*Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
*Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision,
*Excellent planning, organisation & deadline time keeping skills,
*Strong IT skills, incl. advanced MS Excel.

Package
*Appointment Type: Interim Contract (3-6-months)
*Hourly Rate: £15.00ph to £20.00ph / £30-£40,000pa (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-Time
*Holiday 25 Days + Bank Holidays
