12312 – Management Accountant (FTC) Job Spec

Location: Leicester

Summary of the Role

Our client – a highly successful household name based in Leicestershire – is seeking an experienced management accountant to join their team for a full-time fixed-term-contract (3-6-months maternity cover). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting to senior group management & meeting external reporting requirements. Key duties include:

  • Monthly & annual reporting incl. preparation of monthly management accounts & ad-hoc reporting,
  • Business partnering management, assisting with budget preparation, cashflow forecasting & providing variance analysis,
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date balance sheet reconciliation incl. intercompany account,
  • Processing & accounting for payroll,
  • Manage year-end reporting, consolidation & audit,
  • Production of group quarterly VAT returns & processing of monthly VAT payments on account,
  • Processing BACS & CHAPS payments through internet banking for multiple organisations in the group,
  • Production of ad-hoc reporting & analysis as directed by senior Finance Management,
  • Provide support & cover for colleagues, incl. assistance with purchase & sales ledger.

 

The Right Person

  • Part OR Fully-qualified ACCA / CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience,
  • Previous experience in a management accounts role,
  • Internal / external audit experience, group accounting / consolidation experience preferred,
  • Excellent accuracy & attention to detail,
  • Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management & non-finance colleagues,
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team within a large organisation,
  • Excellent planning, organisation & deadline time keeping skills,
  • Strong IT skills incl. MS Excel to an advanced standard. Access Dimensions preferred.
