YOUR ROLE:
As Payroll Administrator, you'll play a key role in delivering a reliable and accurate payroll service to a wide variety of clients. Your day-to-day will include:
- Processing payrolls (weekly, monthly, fortnightly, annually) using Sage and Xero.
- Checking PAYE, NI, and pension deductions for accuracy.
- Submitting RTI returns and ensuring full compliance with auto-enrolment requirements.
- Preparing wages journals, client reports, and handling pension submissions.
- Advising clients on liabilities and occasionally making payments on their behalf.
- Registering PAYE and pension schemes.
- Responding to client queries by phone and email with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.
- Building relationships with clients and occasionally working onsite.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
✅ At least 2 years’ experience in a payroll role within an accountancy practice.
✅ Strong working knowledge of Sage payroll (essential) and Xero (desirable).
✅ Confident in PAYE, NI, auto-enrolment and payroll legislation.
✅ Excellent communication and organisational skills.
✅ A proactive, professional attitude and the ability to meet deadlines with ease.
