HOW TO MANAGE YOUR CV PRIVACY

As recruiters, we often encounter candidates who aren’t aware their CV details are still visible on job boards like Indeed, Reed, CV Library, Totaljobs, and more – even if they’re no longer looking for new opportunities.

Here’s the thing: when you apply for a job, your CV is often accessible to employers and recruiters, and they can search, view, and even download it.

So, how can you take control of your online CV presence and ensure your privacy is protected? Let’s walk through it. 👇

Understanding CV Privacy

Worried your current employer might spot your CV online? Don’t panic. You can adjust your CV visibility settings on job boards to ensure your information is kept private. Many platforms allow recruiters to find you through keyword searches, but you can switch your profile to private mode if you'd prefer not to be found.

Here’s how to control your CV visibility on popular job boards:

  1. Navigate to your profile and click on "CV."
  1. Set your CV visibility toggle to "No" to keep it private.

  1. Click on "Settings and Privacy."
  1. Under "Job Seeking Preferences," manage your CV visibility and updates.

Finding Your CV Online

If you’re unsure where your CV may be posted, here’s how to find it:

🔍 Search for your name and key details from your CV on search engines.
📧 Check your email for registration confirmation messages from job boards.
📞 If needed, contact customer service for assistance with removing or updating your CV.
